Objectives:

  • Students will label the basic structure of a sentence diagram.
  • Students will demonstrate how to diagram simple subjects and simple predicates.


Materials:

  • Notebook/iPad (Evernote)
  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Videos



Activity:

Students will watch the video below which will introduce them to the basic structure of a sentence diagram; there is also a PDF version which gives step by step instructions on how to set up a sentence diagram. Students may also use the ThingLink below in order to see a visual representation of the information provided in the video. The students will take note accordingly and then practice example diagrams on their own in class and for homework.
